Bill Murray visited the Home of FDR National Historic Site and Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum on Sunday, June 5. Murray was working (preparing for an upcoming film in which he plays the 32nd president) but took time out to mingle with National Archives and National Park Service staff.
He ordered apple pie in the Henry A. Wallace Visitor Center’s Mrs. Nesbitt’s Cafe and shopped in the New Deal Store for his children. He was most gracious and we all tried our best NOT to smother our special guest with references to our favorite Murray roles. FDR’s beloved Roosevelt Library groundhogs (a twofer there) were delighted he was not in character.
