On the emotional last day of Richard Nixon’s administration, Vice President Gerald R. Ford and Betty Ford walked the President to his helicopter.  In this contact sheet image, Betty Ford is seen placing her hand in unspoken comfort on President Nixon, while he and Mrs. Nixon say their farewells to daughter Tricia, with her husband Ed Cox, and the Fords.
