What’s Cooking Wednesdays: A Texas style BBQ

In the spring of 1967, President and Lady Bird Johnson hosted a Texas barbecue at their ranch for Latin American Ambassadors.   These pictures from Latin American Ambassadors Weekend were taken on April 1, 1967 at the LBJ Ranch near Stonewall, Texas.

Incidentally, Lady Bird Johnson’s chili recipe is a favorite among Presidential Libraries staffers, so we’re super excited that LBJ recipes are included in the recently published cookbook, Eating with Uncle Sam; Recipes and Historical Bites from the National Archives.
